The kit arrive packaged nicely and no damage during shipping. The order was received quickly as it arrived 3 days after I place the order on Father's day. Happy Father's day to me!
I planned all along to mount the tank, compressors and wiring on a piece of 3/4" PVC. I have installed this on my 2017 Ford Explorer and I sometimes need the third row seating so I wanted to make it easily removable.
I mounted the horns under the front end forward of the wheels. I don't have fog lights so I mounted the valve in the left front area that the fog lights normally occupy. If I have problems with the horns getting damaged I may move them to the same area.
I did buy locally some 90 degree swivel fittings instead of the straight connections provided for the main line connection to the tank and valve. It allowed for easier installation and a cleaner look. I also purchased a 90 swivel and some line to install the pressure gauge in the dash vs having it mounted to the tank
I work out of this Explorer so I didn't want the compressors kicking on randomly while on the phone or talking to someone in the vehicle. So I have a switch to control power to the compressors. I also have a switch controlling power to my foot switch to control the horn valve. I did this in case I take it in for service, valet, my wife driving the vehicle etc.
Since I have the tank mounted in the vehicle I ran a hard line with a valve and a hose to drain condensation from the system also.
It's a nice kit. I think if…
