Blake H. upgraded his 2006 Chevy Suburban with the HornBlasters Sniper Electric Horn, mounting the horn neatly under the hood next to the battery for a clean, easily accessible installation. The Sniper packs a powerful blast while fitting in the engine bay, making it an excellent replacement for the factory horn on a full-size SUV—no air tank, no frame-rail plumbing, just a compact 12-volt package.
The Sniper Electric Horn (part EH-AH) is a stealth-black single-trumpet electric air horn with a separate direct-drive compressor that builds air on demand. HornBlasters lists a peak of about 125 dB versus a typical factory horn around 107 dB, 12-volt DC operation, and up to 20 amps during a honk. The box includes the horn, compressor, 40-amp relay and harness, air tubing, and mounting hardware so you can tie into the factory horn circuit. Because 20 amps is more than most stock horns draw, HornBlasters strongly recommends the relay—and the optional Electric Horn Wiring Kit if you need heavier-gauge wire than the factory circuit provides.
This install shows how the Sniper can add significantly more volume without a complicated setup. It is a strong upgrade for Suburban owners who want better presence in traffic, a horn that matches the vehicle’s size, and a straightforward under-hood layout like Blake’s battery-bay mount.
