THE MOST POPULAR HORNS OF 2026
FAN FAVORITES
We've been in the horn business since 2002, and if there's one thing we've learned, it's what our customers want. After listening to our fans (and checking a lot of receipts), we put together this list of our most popular horn kits heading into 2026. Whether you're looking for your first upgrade or ready to go full locomotive, there's something here for you.
WHY UPGRADE YOUR HORN?
Let's be honest: factory horns are weak. That little beep might work for a parking lot, but it's not doing anything when someone's merging into your lane without looking or drifting over the center line while staring at their phone. Distracted driving is everywhere, and sometimes you need something that actually gets through.
Beyond safety, a horn upgrade is one of the most fun mods you can do to your truck or car. It's instant personality, instant reactions, and something you'll actually use. There's a reason train horns have been a thing in the automotive world for decades. They work, and they're a blast.
WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING A KIT
Before you pick a kit, think about a few things:
- Space and mounting: Where is this going? Under the hood? In the bed? Replacing your spare tire? Kits range from compact all-in-ones to full setups with separate tanks and compressors.
- How loud do you want to be? Entry-level air horns are way louder than stock, but they're not train horns. If you want that authentic locomotive sound, you'll need a kit with a proper train horn like the Shocker XL train horn that comes in our Conductor's Special train horn kits.
- Honk time and recovery: Bigger tanks mean longer honks and more air for air tools or airing up tires. Smaller systems recover faster but run out quicker. Think about how you'll use it.
- Install difficulty: Some kits are plug-and-play with everything pre-wired. Others require more work. If you're doing it yourself, make sure you're comfortable with the setup.
DIXIE MUSICAL HORN
You know the tune from The Dukes of Hazzard. This electric horn plays those first 11 notes of "Dixie Land" through 5 ABS trumpets. It runs on 12V DC with its own on-demand mini compressor, so there's no air system to worry about. Just wire it up and go.
It's not a train horn, but it's a fun conversation starter and about as easy as a horn install gets. Great for anyone who wants something different without a complicated setup. If you're looking for a simple way to add some personality to your ride, this is it.
2-CHIME 3-LITER AIR HORN KIT
This is the entry point into real air horns. The 2-chime delivers a high-pitched blast that's way louder than stock, and the 3-liter air system keeps things compact. You get about 5 seconds of honk time and a 35-second recovery at 120 PSI.
The air valve comes pre-installed on the horn, and the tank/compressor combo arrives pre-assembled, so installation is straightforward. It's small enough to tuck under a hood or in a trunk, making it one of our most popular kits for first-time buyers. If you're new to air horns or need something compact for a daily driver, this is a great place to start.
FLATLAW 127H TRAIN HORN KIT
The Flatlaw takes the sound of our classic Outlaw train horn and flattens it into a more compact profile. This is a real train horn, not an air horn, so you're getting that deep, authentic sound.
The 127H air system is weather-resistant, running at 120 PSI with 4-5 seconds of honk time and a 35-second recovery. The pre-installed air valve and included wiring make setup easier than you'd expect for a train horn at this price point. If you want real train horn sound without a complicated install or a big investment, this is the move and one of the best values we offer.
CONDUCTOR'S SPECIAL 228H TRAIN HORN KIT
This is where things get serious. The Conductor's Special pairs our Shocker XL train horns (the loudest horn we make) with a 2-gallon, 150 PSI air system. You get 3-5 seconds of honk time and a 55-second recovery, plus the air system can pull double duty for inflating tires or running small air tools.
The Shocker XL horns are built from fiberglass-reinforced ABS with stainless steel internals, and they're hand-tuned to the authentic US Train Horn Chord. The 228H air source unit is pre-assembled, weather-resistant, and compact enough to mount in a trunk or cargo area. The four horns mount individually, so you can spread them out in whatever configuration fits your vehicle: inside bumpers, behind the grille, under the bed, wherever you've got space. Whether you're putting this in a car, truck, or SUV, the flexibility makes it easy to get creative with your install.
5-GALLON STEALTH SPARE TIRE DELETE KIT
Be heard, not seen. The Stealth Spare Tire Delete mounts in place of your spare tire, tucking the Shocker XL horns up into the spare tire well where they're completely out of sight. The horns are positioned to project sound from both sides, creating a 360-degree wall of sound that hits hard from every angle.
The 5-gallon tank and 1NM compressor deliver 10-12 seconds of honk time with a 2-minute recovery at 150 PSI. Everything mounts to a single bracket, so once it's installed, you've got your horns, tank, compressor, and all the components in one clean package under your truck. You also get a full onboard air system for tires, tools, or whatever else you need. If you drive a full-size pickup or SUV and want max performance without anything visible, this is the kit.
