Introducing our versatile 5-gallon 8-port air tank, the standard choice for all our 5-gallon kits, and ideal for a range of onboard air applications like tire pressure adjustments, load leveling, and supporting a Jake Brake.
Proudly made in the USA, our 5-gallon air tank adheres to SAE J10 & FMVSS 121 standards, ensuring top-notch quality control. Boasting a maximum rating of 150 PSI and a burst rating of up to 300 PSI, this sturdy tank meets all DOT requirements. Equipped with seven 1/2" ports and one 3/4" port, it delivers exceptional airflow, mitigating bottleneck issues found in other tanks. These high-flow ports not only enhance onboard air applications but are also essential for powerful train horns like the Nathan AirChime or Leslie train horns.
Designed for installation convenience, the tank features 4 ports on the side, 1 on each end, 1 on top, and 1 on the bottom. This layout enables easy installation of a drain cock and safety blow-off valve, regardless of the tank's orientation. Protected with a black powder coating and an internal rust inhibitor, this tank is a smart investment for lasting performance. In short, our 5-gallon air tank is among the finest on the market.
As an important safety precaution, a safety blow-off valve should be installed with any air system. A safety blow-off valve is designed to keep the system from over-pressurizing and to prevent damage to other components. It is suggested to use a safety blow-off valve with a PSI rating between 25-35 PSI higher than the maximum pressure of the pressure switch.
For example, 150 PSI systems require a 175 PSI safety blowoff and 120 PSI systems require a 150 PSI safety blowoff.
