Big sound, honest hardware

Four real bells

Four wide-flare bells that mount individually, so they can be spread out wherever there is room. The deep, layered tone people turn around for, not an electronic imitation.

Onboard air system

Every kit ships with its own compressor and tank. It fills itself between honks, and the same air supply can top off tires or run small air tools.

One box, one weekend

Air line, wiring kit with fuses, fittings, mounting hardware, the electric air valve, an air line cutter, instructions, and earplugs.

Phone speakers undersell it. Earplugs ship in the box for a reason.

Compare the six air systems

Same four-trumpet Shocker XL in every kit, and all six air up tires and run air tools. What changes is how long you can honk, how fast it refills, and how hard the compressor can keep working.

What duty cycle means

Duty cycle is about heat, not a timer. The compressor runs whenever it needs to. Work it hard enough and it gets hot, and a thermal overload switch shuts it off until it cools.

A 25 or 30 percent compressor reaches that point sooner, so a long job can pause partway through. A 100 percent compressor keeps going much longer before heat stops it, which is what matters if you are airing up a set of tires or running an air tool.

Pre-assembled or separate tank

On the 127H and 228H the compressor comes pre-mounted to the tank as one assembly. That is the simplest install we sell and the lowest price. Taking it apart voids the warranty.

From the 232 up, the tank and the compressor are separate pieces you can mount apart to fit the space you have, and the compressor itself is heavier duty. That is why the 232 costs more than the 228H, even though the two hold the same air and honk just as long.

Two finishes, one horn

Stealth Black disappears under the truck. White shows the horns off. Same four trumpets, same air system, same sound.

HornBlasters does not publish fill figures for the 8-gallon tank. These are calculated from the measured 5-gallon dual-compressor times, scaled by volume.

Trucks, cars, semis. This is the kit we recommend most for cars, because all of the components can be spread out and mounted individually: horns in the front or rear bumper, behind the grille, or one in each wheel well, with the air system in the cargo area or trunk. Same horn on every one of these. Swipe through.

What owners say

Before you buy

How long can I honk the horn?
It depends on the air system. The 127H gives you 2 to 3 seconds. The 228H, 232 and 244K give you 3 to 5 seconds. The 544K gives you 10 to 12 seconds, and the 844K gives you 18 to 20. Between honks the 244K and 127H refill in about 35 seconds, the 228H in about 55 seconds, the 232 in about a minute and a half, the 544K in about 2 minutes and the 844K in about 2 and a half.
Which air system should I get?
If you want the simplest install at the lowest price, take the 127H. The 228H installs the same way and carries a bigger tank, which buys you 3 to 5 seconds of honk instead of 2 to 3. From the 232 up, the tank and compressor are separate parts, so you can mount them apart to fit the space you have, and the compressor steps up to a 100 percent duty cycle, which matters if you plan to air up tires or run air tools often. Step up to the 544K or 844K and you get a much longer honk: 5 and 8 gallons on board, good for 10 to 12 and 18 to 20 seconds against the 3 to 5 of the smaller systems.
Why does the 232 cost more than the 228H if it refills slower?
Because refill speed is not what you are paying for. The 232 uses an American made tank that is separate from the compressor, so the two can be mounted apart and serviced independently, where the 127H and 228H arrive pre-assembled and mount as one piece. It also steps up from a 30 percent duty compressor to a 100 percent duty one, which is the better tool for tire inflation and air tools. The 244K is the one to pick if refill speed is what you want.
Can I air up tires with it?
Yes, on every one of the six air systems. The onboard air supply runs tires and small air tools, not just the horns. The 232 and 244K are the most versatile for it on size and capability, and the 544K and 844K simply hold more air.
Will it fit my vehicle?
Trucks, SUVs, cars, vans, boats and RVs. All of the components can be spread out and mounted individually, so you can lay the kit out in whatever configuration the vehicle needs: hide the horns in the front or rear bumper, behind the grille, or one in each wheel well if that is what it takes, and the air system typically goes in the cargo area or trunk. That is why it is the kit we recommend most for cars. The horn is the same on every kit: four Shocker XL trumpets at 19.5, 16.25, 14.75 and 12.75 inches. The air source is what changes. The 127H unit measures 15.2 inches long and the 228H unit 19 inches. From the 232 up you are fitting a separate tank and compressor: 17 inches for the 2 gallon tank, 20.5 inches for the 5 gallon, and 32.5 inches by 10.5 inches for the 8 gallon.
What is the warranty?
The Shocker XL train horns carry our lifetime manufacturer’s defect warranty. Every other component in the kit carries our 2-year manufacturer’s defect warranty. Both come with our 30-day satisfaction replacement or refund guarantee. One caveat on the 127H and 228H: the compressor is factory-mounted to the tank on those two, and detaching it voids the warranty. The 232, 244K, 544K and 844K all ship with the compressor and tank as separate pieces, so any of those four can be mounted in different spots on the vehicle.
